The RD4U website is intended to provide public access to information about the Register and its activities.

The RD4U hereby disclaims any liability or responsibility arising from the use of information or data contained on its website. The RD4U, its Board and Secretariat and its contractors shall not be liable for any financial or other consequences whatsoever arising from the use of information or data contained on the website, including the inappropriate, improper or fraudulent use of such information or data. Consultation of the site shall automatically constitute full acceptance of the present disclaimer.

While the RD4U cannot guarantee that there are no errors on its site, it endeavours, where appropriate, to correct those which are drawn to its attention. The RD4U accepts no liability for the content of other Internet sites to which its website is or may be linked or to which reference is or may be made.

Reproduction of texts

The information and texts available on the RD4U website may be reproduced provided the source is acknowledged (© RD4U) and the reproduction is made for private use or for the purposes of information and education in connection with the Register’s activities. This authorisation is subject to the condition that the source is indicated and that any such reproduction is free of charge.

Persons wishing to use information and texts on the RD4U website for any use other than those listed above, and in particular for commercial use, must request prior written permission by contacting the RD4U at admin.office[at]rod.coe.int.

Users should nevertheless be aware that certain information and texts may be protected under intellectual property law, in particular by copyright.

Reproduction of photos

Photos on the RD4U website remain the property of the Register or the Council of Europe – they may be used on any medium provided the source is mentioned. All reproduction must necessarily provide the following credit: "Council of Europe" or "Register of Damages for Ukraine", respectively.

Pictures taken by non-Council of Europe/RD4U photographers may not be reproduced or transmitted without the photographer's written permission (contact details appear on the print version of the relevant pictures).

Such use must be free of charge and remain private in nature, or for the purposes of information and education in connection with the Register’s activities.

Use of the RD4U logo

The logo of the Register of Damage for Ukraine (RD4U) has been designed to uniquely identify the RD4U. The shape, font and colour of the logo must not be altered. The logo is available in English and French, the two official languages of the Council of Europe, and in Ukrainian. It cannot be translated into other languages.

The RD4U logo can be used by third parties only after obtaining express written authorisation. This can be requested by contacting the RD4U at admin.office[at]rod.coe.int.

Authorisation to use the RD4U’s logo may be granted on a case-by-case basis, after separate examination of each request. The authorisation cannot be delegated to others. It will be valid only for the purpose in respect of which it has been granted by the RD4U and confers no right of exclusivity.

The authorisation will not be granted if the indented use is contrary to the mandate, rules and principles of the RD4U or if the logo is to be used for commercial purposes, including in conjunction with the logo, name or mark of a company.

Authorisation will be final once the final page proof (bon à tirer) has been validated by the RD4U.

 Scam alert

The Register of Damage of Ukraine would like to bring to the attention of the general public that scam e-mails, letters or faxes could circulate, notably using the RD4U logo and/or bearing the forged (more or less skillfully) signature of RD4U staff members, and which may therefore appear to be RD4U correspondence.

Such e-mails, letters or faxes do not originate from RD4U and typically carry false RD4U contact e-mail addresses or telephone numbers, as well as fake documents, as the case may be.

The RD4U recommends that recipients of such scams do not respond, to the extent that the purpose of these schemes may be to obtain their personal and banking details.

The RD4U declines all responsibility for any loss which may result from these scams and warns the public to be very wary of these and other similar solicitations that falsely claim to originate from, or make reference to, the RD4U.
